KINZOKU-EBISU was formed by high school students,Tokyo in 1969. The leader Daichi TAKAGI and Kenta ASAMUNA were playing together with Hardrock bands and Folk bands since their elementary school days. At that time they were influenced by '70s British Rock then progressive rock like Genesis, King Crimson, Yes, Pink Floyd etc. and also hard rocks like Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple as well. Their lyric oriented a literary dark mood and stories based on a Japanese novels, for instance, famouse stuff of Rampo EDOGAWA and other unique stories. On stage at "Silver Elephant", a most famouse venue for progressive rock in Tokyo, they, 4 members performed 8 musical parts at most, using 2 drums, 2 double-necked guitars with many musical equipments. Sometimes they wore Japanese Kimono, masks and other theatrical properties which express their theatrial music style. In 2002 KINZOKU-EBISU released their independent debut album. "HAKO-OTOKO, The Box Man"is a title of fantastic novel of Japanese famouse author Kobo ABE. KINZOKU-EBISU featured this novel with a symphonic music oriented Genesis and lyric of deep emotional Japanese feeling. But soon after they disbanded. "HAKO-OTOKO" was re-issued by Vital Label, a division of POSEIDON Records issuing only demo stuffs, in 2003. In 2003, new members coming up, KINZOKU-EBISU, the second generation, started their career and released 2nd album "MOMIJI-GARI" on Vital label.
